The Legend of Phil, the Misunderstood Mime

The park is bright and sunny

A place of fun and joy

Lovers walk and good friends talk

By playing girls and boys

But a cloud descends above them

And fear arrives on time

And people flee because they see

Phil, the Misunderstood Mime

Phil, Phil

Just wants to pantomime

Phil, Phil

That's his only crime

Phil, Phil

He's sad most of the time

Phil, Phil

'Cause nobody loves a mime

Phil frolics to a girl

And his heart fills up with hope

He'll be her friend if she finds the end

Of his invisible tugging rope

But the girl will have none of it

She begins to scream and cry

Then her dad arrives to pulverize

Phil, who fears he soon will die

Phil, Phil

Just wants to pantomime

Phil, Phil

That's his only crime

Phil, Phil

He's sad most of the time

Phil, Phil

'Cause nobody loves a mime

Phil escapes and then he finds

Some people who seem nice

He starts up his show that is sans audio

And prepares to befriend and entice

The people, they look up in horror

"It's a mime!" They all scream and bemoan

Soon others unite to help solve the plight

Of the mime who won't leave them alone

Phil, Phil

Just wants to pantomime

Phil, Phil

That's his only crime

Phil, Phil

He's sad most of the time

Phil, Phil

'Cause nobody loves a mime

The people close in on him

Phil can't run 'cause he's trapped in a glass box

And as they get closer Phil knows it's not kosher

And trembles in his striped socks

Phil squeezes his eyes shut in fear

And readies himself for the worst

When suddenly, WHEE! His movements are free!

For his invisible bubble just burst

Phil, Phil

Just wants to pantomime

Phil, Phil

That's his only crime

Phil, Phil

He's sad most of the time

Phil, Phil

'Cause nobody loves a mime

No longer confined, Phil runs off

As far sway from the park as he can

But he trips on his feet while crossing the street

And poor Phil is struck down by a van.

Poor Phil.

Phil, Phil

Just wants to pantomime

Phil, Phil

That's his only crime

Phil, Phil

He's sad most of the time

Phil, Phil

'Cause nobody loves a mime

Now the park is still bright and sunny

And people still go there a lot

But not a mime's to be found, there are no more around

And the people rejoice as they ought

The legend of Phil is now over

Phil's misery finally has ceased

He's been sent up above where all mimes are loved

At last, Phil has finally found peace

Phil, Phil

Just wants to pantomime

Phil, Phil

That's his only crime

Phil, Phil

He's sad most of the time

Phil, Phil

'Cause nobody loves a mime
